Very nicely done. I thought the interaction between Mary and Joseph was very realistically portrayed. The tension with Rome and Herod also comes through, providing something of a backdrop for the story. Good music, too.

Once they finally get to Bethlehem and the stable, things seem a bit stilted. The star shining through the roof, the visits from the Magi and shepherds -- very much "staged." Jesus born without an umbilical cord was also quite a feat, but maybe we can allow for a little time lapse somewhere.

Go see it. All in all, Hollywood got this one right.
