Could anyone recommend a good modern biography of St Francis? I was thinking Chesterton.

Also, is St Bonaventure's Life of St Francis more hagiography, or worth a read?

I fancy the Chesterton, but started St Bonaventure last night. It's a nice read, if a little gushing.
