The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, I had Valentine’s breakfast with my 2-year old granddaughter, Edie. Not exactly Lenten Retreat fare perhaps. And Edie introduced me to (had me read) this excellent little book (top shelf) called The Gruffalo. While not particularly adult spiritual reading material, of course, it is a gem of a tale and provides keen insight into dealing with the adversary. I highly recommend it to any reader looking to gift a toddler: niece, nephew, sib, son, daughter or grand. Excellent reading…great fun. Pop-pop The Serious p.s. Since The Drop Box was such a great post I waited a few days to post this, lest the other be lost from sight too quickly. Kudos to Jacques and his bride and the Moses Baskets of his country. | |||
