Mother Immaculata, OCD, is a Carmelite nun who does an excellent job of correlating the stages of prayer as written by Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross, and adds insightful dialogue for clarification on the differences.

If you have had trouble understanding the writings of either of these saints, this is a great resource to get you over the hurdle. This is a private publication that is an excellent writing, and one which I use often for my Lectio Divina practice.
