The Kundalini Process: A Christian Understanding |

I came across this short YouTube the other day and found it very practical and wise. The term, Kundalini Maa, is not one I've come across very often, but you'll get what the speaker is saying -- that it's the energy and intelligence that regulates the autonomic nervous system. She speaks of its true home as being in the "boiler room," and shouldn't be coaxed out as where it goes and what it effects is unpredictable. It is, however, a source of natural healing, and we can learn to cooperate with it that way. There's a bit more to the teaching, and it's not one that is widely taught, but is one with which I completely concur. Deep, powerful unconscious energies do reside in the embodied soul, and they are intensified and circulated in certain circumstances, including contemplative practices. Best to let this process move in response to our deepening growth rather than to pry open the door of the boiler room, which is sometimes difficult to close again, or to integrate the energy that is released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvcThM1oekY

When I read your post, I thought you were going to direct us to Maharishikaa Preeti. She came up on my YouTube recommendations a while back. She teaches the exact same thing. Here's one example I found. Maharishikaa tells a questioner not to do kundalini practices any more: Maharishikaa | on Why not to awaken Kundalini shakti "She (Shakti Maa) doesn't have to be awakened by anybody. What happens is that all these things disturb Her, and then She starts to get tough!" "There are hundreds of thousands of people who have messed with Kundalini Maa, and now She's ... and they have pain, they have all kinds ... mad ... like anything ..." "And the sad part is that those teachers that start to meddle with the Kundalini and awake ... they don't know how to quiet it down afterwards. They don't know what to do. And then the people are in that state. And then they are alone in this world with neurological disorders."

Thanks Derek. Very good message! I'm pretty sure I'd seen it before, but it's good to have it referenced in this context. I've never been able to relate to personalizing this energy process the way she and others do, but I can see where that can help to facilitate a respectful relationship with the process.

But you were once a biologist, right? Ultimately it must come down to neurotransmitters, voltage differences, and sodium and potassium ions. I can imagine that in the far future, instruments will be available to detect where and how the body's electrical systems are malfunctioning. But medical science isn't there yet.

Right. For those who might be wondering about how electricity is generated and circulated in the body, here's a good article. https://health.howstuffworks.c...make-electricity.htm There are so many factors that influence the generation and flow of bio-electricity, none the least of which are breath and thoughts. Then there are the dynamics of conscious and unconscious activity, and how electricity is channeled into these broad areas. To speak of kundalini naturally operating in something like a boiler room is to recognize that it's usually unconscious and very close to the roots of our bio-electric generating system. Nothing to mess around with. Far better to let more voltage be released naturally, as needed.
