Energy follows attention; thought/word forms attention. The words we live by shape who we are and who we are to become. That is why He told us to be careful how we use them. The right use of words leads to a deepening grasp of beauty, truth and goodness: to Love! The mind becomes strong and powerful, more able to choose the words that matter and to discard those that do not. Holy silence - - without this, we cannot discern. The Liar always has an agenda and it always leads to deepening immersion in ugliness, falsehood, cruelty and division. When we lie or buy into others’ lies, we travel farther down that road ourselves. After awhile, we are lost and do not even know it. Words are not innocent things we can pick up and lay down with impunity. Lying, naked emperors who hug flags often attract frenzied followers, but . . . look for the fruits . . . whose domain do they really serve? See what you see and know what you know. If this doesn’t make sense ask the Holy One to show you. Humbly ask, seek and knock, willing to let go of falsehoods that have misinformed and malformed you. It is the truth that sets us free, not ideology or patriotism or any political movement or social affiliation. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and it is a terrible thing indeed that it can be wasted! So wake up! Be here now in love, belonging to God first and loving all that God loves. No room for lies in that Way! Only clarity, wisdom and peace. Isn’t that what we really want? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Phil,

The impetus to write this down came at 4 a.m. today, and I did so. I have felt deeply troubled by President Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 election results in several states while keeping half the country convinced there was massive voter fraud. It occurred to me that far too many people now are basing their evaluations of a great many things on misinformation, even lies. This meditation emphasizes the eternal importance of truthfulness and the manner in which we use words.
