This study just seemed fated to fail from the beginning by design. Telling somebody you're going to pray for them before their surgery, as part of a study, is quite likely to increase a person's stress by making them too conscious of unconscious processes involved in the healing response, which is why hypnotherapy works so well in reducing post-surgery complications as it increases the protective trance-state. Morevover, prayer has been shown to work in a similar study where the recipients were not notified at all. Here's both: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/200...MDdwBHNlYwN5bmNhdA-- http://www.noetic.org/publicat...h/main.cfm?p_style=3 | ||
