Shasha"Catholicism" documentary
I'm watching this ten-episode documentary with Rev. Robert Barron. My parish library has a copy. Anybody seen it?
What a great piece of work! Beautiful cinematography. A lot of down-to-earth teaching about the Church. I'm really loving learning about my Faith.
Ends with this:
Catholicism is a way of seeing.
Catholicism is a manner of life.
Catholicism has a distinctive texture, feel, and resonance.
It all begins with, revolves around, and leads to Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh. http://www.catholicismseries.com/24 February 2013, 05:46 PM
ShashaEpisode 8: "A Vast Company of Witnesses: The Communion of Saints."
I am loving this one! Fr. Barron celebrates some of the Church's most extraordinary saints--Edith Stein, Mother Teresa, Therese of Lisieux, and Katherine Drexel.
In episode 9, "The Fire of His Love: Prayer and the Life of the Spirit" Thomas Merton and St. John of the Cross are covered. It is brief coverage on Christian mysticism, but I think some important themes are illustrated.
I see EWTN is showing some of this again in March.

PhilSome of our retreat center staff are going through the series with the Dominican Sisters in Great Bend and they love it.
Sounds like a great resource.
