So many states consider the fetus an individual person deserving of protection by law if it is killed by someone other than the woman, and against her will...QUOTE]

Check out this 2-minute video clip which captures this moral double standard problem. Go to the video titled, "Should We Treat Them Differently?" which is near the very bottom of the page. It documents how the killing of unwanted fetuses is a pro-choice option while the killing of wanted fetuses as murder.

Yes, this culture's treatment of the unborn and the media's reporting on it is ethically incongruent and chaotic.

One wonders what would happen if Democrats thought they could win elections without the support of the pro-choice lobby?

Another one by Dr. Nathanson. This is the last one I'll share, I think...

"The Eclipse of Reason" (viewer discretion advised).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...FVnI&feature=related

Notice how shocked people are when they learn that 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions, called "late abortions," are performed legally. People say silly things like, "No way, by 8 months, it's already a baby!" The more it *looks like* a baby, the more horrifying it is, but all along, life is life at any stage.

Of the 1.5 million annual abortions in the U.S., 120,000 are late abortions--400 per day.

In Canada, 65,000 abortions annually, 7000 of which are late abortions. In the UK, an astounding 30,000 of the 170,000 total are late abortions!

Nathanson points to an article by an abortion doctor: "Dilation and evacuation has been proposed as the treatment of choice for women seeking abortions in their third trimester."

(my italics)

Imagine this is going on while down the street in another medical facility, premature babies are born everyday at 6, 7, 8 months. For wanted babies, medical science does everything it can to preserve the life of premies. Born at 6 months, babies have a 65% chance of survival; of those, 80% are completely healthy.

Now if somebody kills a premie, we call it murder, infanticide, which is against the law. But abortion is called "treatment," and celebrated as honoring a woman's right to chose!

I think, therefore, I'm pro-life!

In addition to that, I feel we must do what we can to stop abortion. Making it illegal is an essential step unto that end, but so much more would need to be in place to care for women faced with an unwanted pregnancy.

What's also interesting about how sin can blind us to the extent that some christians are blind to the evil of abortion -- is the scripture that deals with end times and states that we will be handed over -- and by those who will believe they are serving God!

See how readily such scriptures are confirmed regarding the blindness that sin can induce. Those loyal to Christ may well suffer the fate of the aborted fetus -- and from one's own brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers who will hand us over. (Scripture says).

Interesting to reflect on.

Did you happen to catch the news that in San Francisco a bill has been proposed to make a law banning circumcision prior to the age of 18?

Imprisonment and/or fine would be the punishment. The advocates want to protect the rights of minors from being circumcised without their consent prior to attaining the legal age of 18 when a rational decision of their own can be made.

Of course, this law would preclude Jews from practicing their faith as they have been to date.

Interesting that one can legally annihilate the foreskin and the penis and the owner of the penis at any time up to birth, but immediately thereafter and for the next18 years the foreskin will be protected under this new magnanimous American law affording protection of the penis. The penis has rights! -- the fetus?

The state will trump the parent once again. What could be more totalitarian? Perhaps inoculations shouldn’t be administered until age 18 as well, when the risks of side effects can be understood and self-determined.

Perhaps the bill should be amended to protect the penis from conception through 18.

Will a new denomination now spring up as part of the emerging church – one advocating penile rights?

One day perhaps emigrants will pass by the Statue of Liberty heading the other way and – yearning to breathe free!
