I didn't know where else to put this, but I am inquiring if anyone knows if one can become a nun even with being a single mother?

When I was in school many years ago I attended a convent run by the Presentation Sisters, and one of the sisters had been a mother, but entered religious life, when her child had grown to adulthood. Her daughter used to come to visit. We were never aware of a father.

That was accepted then in the fifties.

Yes, I suppose the child would have to be old enough to not need the mother's care any more. Also, the mother would have to be a widow or have her marriage annulled by the Church.
