It's been a little slow here lately, but I've been keeping up with the exchanges that have been taken place. Most of my free time has been spent getting out-of-print books that I've written back into print. The process has gone fairly smoothly, as I'd already scanned most of them and was offering them as pdf downloads. lulu.com makes it easy to get them back into a print format. If you're not familiar with their website, check it out sometime. It's fairly easy to publish your manuscript, and you can do it for no charge and don't even have to purchase copies if you don't want to. There are packages where you can pay for assistance with editing, cover design, and marketing, and maybe I'll eventually do that for new publications (if a publisher won't contract). I'd be willing to "coach" any of you who are interested in getting something up and going. |

Six books -- that is a lot of work! I thought your one about kundalini was great. Very informative.
You'd get a better deal with CreateSpace. You automatically get on Amazon, which attracts far more eyeballs than Lulu. Also CreateSpace has better prices for printing and binding. If you want to give CreateSpace a go, I'd be willing to typeset and design one for you free of charge, provided it's reasonably short and has no illustrations. All I need is the PDF of the interior. |

Actually, come to think of it, a Word document would be a better starting point for typesetting, but a PDF scan of the interior would work, too.

Thanks for the offer, Derek. I'll check out CreateSpace.
The ISBN arrangement I've used with lulu.com is called Extended Reach, and it does make the books available for sale on Amazon.com. That's good enough for me, for now. The next step is to learn how to convert these to epub files, which can be sold for Apple's iPad bookstore. I'll finish putting the old books up in paperback form first. |

As I understand it, it's hard for small publishers to become direct suppliers to Apple. An easier way is to go through Smashwords, who will get your book on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and possible also iPad, all with just a single upload from you.
