I don't think being intelligent is all that predictive of happiness and life satisfaction, however. That would depend more on one's values.

Of course, if one is already very bright (a la IQ tests) going into the test, then a 10% reduction for a failed chip might just drop them into the normal zone, and so it wouldn't be that great a risk for them.
