Very interesting!

Lots of other goodies on that site, including "The Global Brain" (Streams tab), one of my all-time favorites (even though a little New Agey in places).

Very interesting, indeed. Thanks!

Fascinating thinking under "The Evolving Global Brain". I dont see this so much as New Age thinking, however -- but as a pretty sober symtems analysis. One might argue that it is, in essence, a cybernetic view.

Very cool stuff! I checked out the life expectancy calculator, and I was plesantly surprised that I have a few more days left! Cool

Definitely leans toward the New Age side of things but pretty interesting. I remember this guy's work from a Mind mapping seminar I took years ago.

HP, the music for the movie is New Age, and so is the way he speaks of consciousness. What is he talking about? Human awareness? The divine mind? He conflates the two in subtle ways, which is also a characteristic New Age theme. But all in all, I like his work and think it resonates with that of Teilhard de Chardin's, whose ideas I respect deeply.

I must have missed the movie!
I was reading his systems analysis with regards to information flow, and the word "consciousness" did not seem inappropriate in that context.

HP, you can view the movie under the "Streams" tab. It's somewhat outdated, as it was made in the late 70s, I believe, and so parts of it don't hold up. But on the whole, it's got a good message.
