Dear forum,

We've had a rash of spammers registering for the forum lately, listing their porn, drug, and gambling sites as home page, hoping the link would boost their standing with the search engines. w.c. and I have been banning and deleting them, but I've taken new measures that restrict info shown in the user profile to basically nil. I've also set up a moderation queue so that new registrants can't post without approval. Sorry for the inconvenience; it will not impede reading and posting rights to those already registered. Maybe we can eventually loosen things up.
