I read today, with great sadness, of the passing of Dan Fogelberg, one of the great singer-songwriters of the 1970's and 80's. As someone who listened to and played his music for countless hours during that time period, I believe his music deeply touched many of us.Today, I feel profound sense of loss with his passing.

Here is a link to Rhapsody where you can click on many of his songs.

Ah yes, I loved his music, too. "Leader of the Band" is one of my all-time favorites.

I see he died of prostate cancer. Too bad! He was only 56.

He was a great at capturing images and writing compelling stories. He was also much underrated as a musician. I loved the "Twin Sons" albums - mostly instrumental, but one also had a great cover of Judy Collin's "Since You've Asked."

I also loved all his early stuff. Also the High Country Snows album, which had a bluegrass feel to it.

Here's one of my favorites -

"Scarecrow's Dream"
