christusrex.org has been around since the early days of the Internet. I found out about it in 1996 upon reading a review of best websites on the net; it was rated in the top 10 for its amazing collection of photos of religious art.
Upon visiting it recently, I noted that the site now has a number of links near the top of the home page condemning the Iraq war, even insinuating than anyone who participated in any way is guilty of mortal sin. There are also links to "Israeli war crimes in Palestine" and "The Mythical Holocaust."
Yes, you read correctly: a commendation to Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, President of the Republic of Iran. There are other very strange links, such as "The Babylonian Talmud" and "The Protocols of Zion." A book entitled "The International Jew" is also featured, courtesy of radioislam.org The chapter titles speak for themselves -- an anti-semitic manifesto. After these links we get various translations of the catechism, then, below, the wonderful images for which this site has become famous. I'm at a total loss to explain this incongruency. Anyone have any ideas? |

Mythical Holocaust? Ahmadinejad promoting a scolarly discussion? David Irving and Bishop (sic) Richard Williamson honest intellectuals?
Wow! I am ... stunned. PS. It’s bad enough that Mr Ratzinger de-excommunicated Williamson. So much for "Papal infallibility! |

Right, HP. Very bad move to de-excommunicate Williamson, but that has nothing to do with papal infallability (which has a very narrow and precise definition and understanding in Catholicism). It was a political move to try to re-connect with a schismatic movement.
- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R..._the_excommunication You can read a little further down in the wiki article about how Church officials have repudiated Williamson's denial of the Holocaust, and how Pope Benedict himself expressed regrets that what had been intended as a gesture of re-connecting with the Lefevrites had turned into such a mess. And, fwiw, Williamson has no status as a bishop in the RC Church, and is at odds with even other Lefevrites on the holocaust issue. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Phil, |
