Jesus said the truth will set us free?!!!

What is the truth about the Adam and Eve in the
garden of Eden?

Is the fruit literal?

Can eating a literal fruit caused so much pain and suffering?

Is God accused of allowing man to be tempted with the fruit? Or is the fruit symbolic?
Man in the bible is often comapared to a tree...

Genesis 3:15,talk about the seed of Adam ad Eve.

What is the truth in the Garden?!!!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR ASKING!

I think the story of the Garden need a serious investigation!

REASON:Three main world religious= Judasim,
Christianity, and Islam based their religion on the same God. They will not be able to unite if the relationship between man and God is not understood.

They believe in the same God, but they are like enemies. Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace in the Middle East depends on the 3 faiths finding a common base.... Same God...same family...

Welcome, and thanks for registering.

The story has been seriously investigated, ithink. Most scripture scholars regard it to be a mythological accounting of how moral and spiritual evil broke into the human race. There's really not too much controversy about that, so far as I know, though some take the accounting to be more historically literal than others. Still, the conclusion about morality and spirituality remains the same.

There's much more separating Jews, Christians and Moslems than how we understand this story. One would think, however, that the emphasis on love in all three traditions could be better translated into the political sphere than it has been thus far.

I think that truth is inherently liberating.

In a sense, I think thats like saying that we might dream of avoiding any conflict between humans if we would all just become clones. Then all differences would be erased. There would be nothing to fight over or about. But I think that would miss the point. It is impossible not to have differences and distinctions in this world if we are to all be unique individuals, and that goes for larger structures such as societies, religions and countries. Its how we manage or approach those differences that is key.

Hindus can believe that Mars is made of green cheese and Christians may believe that, no, it is made of applesauce, but that, in and of itself, is no reason for bloodshed. But if one thinks that others must not be allowed to believe that Mars is made of one thing or another, or if people think that others believing differently takes away from their own beliefs, then you have a problem.

There is just no way on earth to be able to get everyone believing the same thing in order to then dissolve division. Division aint the problem. Being nasty, mean, hateful, and belligerent about ones differences is the problem.

Phil, you are right. Animosity between religions and between people is complicated.
It is true division cannot be solved by making people believe in the same thing.
Yes, each man is unique. Each have their own dream or desire. But does it mean that they can infringe on another person's dream!? Will their dream cause harm to others.
My dream is that we can find a way that man can fulfill their dream which will benefit themselves and others.
In my heart,I feel everyone should be creative and fulfill his/her potential, no mater what it is;
it can be to be a best Mom, a best business person, or best artist. With help of religious faith, man have to overcome jealousy, resentment, and learn to respect others.
I think religion is suppose to propell man to a higher unselfish ideal.
Example:Matin Luther King said he had a DREAM...
Jesus said "Pray for thy Kingdom came, thy will be done on EARTH as it is heaven..."
Even God's first commandment to man is "Be FRUITFUL..." The commandment were repeated several times in the Bible...
Is it possible for peace on earth? I think so. If there is a will, there is a way.......
